# Good Things Are Always Happening to Me ## 2026 8/1 decided to take a beach trip (with Wife). The weather was perfect. We sang on the car ride home. 7/31 had delicious pizza with Wife and friend. Drank and laughed… 7/30/26 Wife had my lunch packed and fresh cold brew sitting in the fridge for me. to be loved is to be seen. 6/4/26 in the OR and my attending sang Olivia dean. 5/25/26 I got home from a 24 this morning and slept well. Woke up to my love and she made delicious dinner. friend was feeling upset about how hard this job is, but I reminded her that she saved a patients life and, selfishly, her smile made my day. ## 2024 8/1 Nursing was very sad to hear it was my last day. 8/2 I got to watch one of my best friends get married and have a blast at the ceremony with all of my best friends and Wife 8/3 We celebrated our first niece 8/7 I got to come home to a lovely dinner and share a glass of boxed wine (which paired quite nicely with our tilapia) 8/8 I laughed with my team at the end of the day and it really felt like I was a part of something 8/10 Wife and I bopped around south Philly exploring vintage stores and debating buying a croissant; we didn’t but we did have several drinks and giant beans at [redacted]. Delish ! 8/11 Took a spontaneous drive home with Wife to see my dad before his surgery, and see family while they were all in town visiting. We drank beers and played washers and listened to music and enjoyed being together. 8/14 I got the call that dad’s surgery went well, that he was extubated and on bipap; then I got to learn how to do an LP on an infant. 8/16 I held dad’s hand for the first time since his surgery. We just talked and sat and laughed like nothing had changed. He looks wonderful. 8/18 Dad came home from the hospital today, post op day #4 from an open aortic root repair. 8/19 Went to Costco and it cost less than we thought it would. 8/20 Wife's brother came over and we talked and laughed and it was an amazing way to end the day. It’s so easy to get into a routine and it made me realize that it’s possible to do spontaneous things and saying yes is usually a good idea. 8/20 I was complaining about my long days but realized how thankful I am that I get to learn and practice medicine. What a privilege that very few get to do, and I get to do it at some of the best hospitals in the area. 8/21 Wife set up a spa night for me and I had a glass of wine and she gave me a candle lit massage with the door open and the cool breeze flowing through the room and soothing music playing. And I felt so loved 8/24 I had a great night with friends and Wife; we painted a little, sipped a few beers, and laughed a lot 8/25 I got to have a nice slow morning with Wife sipping our coffee and watching Love Island 8/26 One of the third year med students said my presentations sound like a resident 🥲 8/27 I completed a draft of my personal statement and breathed a sigh of relief. It’s a work in progress but at least now it’s in progress. 8/29 The family I’m caring for seems to really trust me. The mom asks what I think about things. And I got to hold a little baby today who just wants some love. AND Wife picked up my prescriptions and cooked turkey burgers and cooked dinner and cleaned up so I could attend a meet and greet 8/30 I got to meet friend's dog and we basically had the same relaxing Friday night we would’ve but in the presence of friends 9/4 went back to the gym for the first time in a while and felt good. 9/5 Had YASSO bars with Wife and got to go to the gym 9/16 I got out of work super early and got to go to the gym, come home and clean with the door open and light a nice pumpkin candle. Amazing vibes.
